What cookies are

How we use cookies

Third-party cookies

We use reputable analytics providers that may set their own cookies to measure site usage on our behalf. We do not use cookies to sell your personal information.

Meta Pixel and Conversions API

We use the Meta Pixel from Meta Platforms, Inc. (Facebook and Instagram) to measure the performance of our advertising. It sets first-party cookies, named _fbp and _fbc, that record that a visit came from one of our ads and whether that visit later led to an enquiry.

Alongside the browser pixel we use Meta's Conversions API, which sends the same measurement events from our server rather than from your browser. This exists so that the count stays accurate when a browser or extension blocks the pixel; it does not collect anything beyond what the pixel itself would collect. Both copies of an event share an identifier so that Meta records the action once.

When you submit a form, we send Meta a cryptographically hashed (SHA-256) version of the contact details you provided so it can tell whether the enquiry came from someone who saw one of our ads. Hashing happens in your browser before the data is transmitted, and the hash cannot be reversed to recover the original details. We do not send Meta the content of your message. Our free calculators send only the name of the tool used and never any figures you enter into them.

You can control how Meta uses this information through your Facebook ad preferences and Instagram account settings, or by blocking cookies in your browser as described below.

Managing cookies

Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings. Blocking essential cookies may affect how parts of the site work. You can also opt out of analytics through your browser controls or available industry opt-out tools.
